What a wonderful week at the beach! Took a few minutes away from the family to snap some pics of these adorable items made from my Ship-Shape collection. And of course, I have to put in a couple of cute pictures of my boys frolicking in the waves. So long, summer...we'll miss you!

Orange Crush Quilts at Market
I was so impressed with the quilts made from my Orange Crush collection for Quilt Market. The top pick shows the Timeless booth, next up is a quilt made using a pattern called "Merry-go-Round" by Crazy Old Ladies (73"X93"). Another gorgeous one by Crazy Old Ladies called "Urban Life" (love the modern simplicity) , and finally a stunning quilt with black accents, called "Zig-Zag" by Swirly Girls Design. What a great group of quilts!

Lemon Grove at Quilt Market
Quilt Market in Houston was a lot of fun this past weekend! The highlights for me included meeting Kim Kight of trueup fame (finally!), running into an old friend from RISD, Carrie Bloomston (more on her cute quilts later), and hanging out with Monica Lee, who is just super-fun. I was also thrilled to see these gorgeous quilts on display featuring my Lemon Grove collection.
The first quilt pattern shown is "Urban Cabin" by Atkinson Designs (65"X88"), and the second quilt design featuring the trees is by
Heidi Pridemore (42"X58")
There's a fun variety of scales in this group, from the larger circle & tree prints to the smaller leaves, swirls and star bursts. I'm really happy with the way it all came out, love the neon yellow and slighty turquoise blue accents.

Orange Crush!
ah, my love affair with orange...
what can I say? I knew my husband was a keeper when I saw his apartment for the first time and he had a bright orange Herman Miller chair (and when he didn't dump me after my cat scratched it up).
My new Orange Crush collection debuts at Houston Quilt Market later this week- hope to see you there!

vintage inspiration
I love this story....designer Analisse Taft discovered old fabric screens on a visit to a Brooklyn textile mill, fell in love with the designs, and has produced a line of home furnishings fabrics using these beautiful prints. They are only available "to the trade", but we can all get inspired by checking out her website: http://altforliving.com/
